In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

According to the authorized release, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
